Breakfast of Champions

I did this layout last night. Actually . . I finished this layout last night, I started it a couple of nights ago and finally tied everything together last night. Everything is CTMH (lovin' my Star Struck stamp set!) except the background polka dot paper (SEI, I think).

You know how sometimes you just want to capture certain (silly) things about your kids habits, etc. Well, I took these photos last summer when they were on a breakfast kick of eating the exact same things each and every morning.

Joe got tired of the french toast sticks . . .now they BOTH eat dinosaur oatmeal (or cold cereal) every morning. But now Joe has to pull ALL the eggs out and eat them separately from the oatmeal. If my husband makes breakfast for them and FORGETS to pull out the eggs . . Joe won't eat it - LOL!! Anyway, hope you like the lo . .

Watch out . . .

I'm on a roll! Wow . . I should organize my scrap stuff more often . . it really gets me motivated!

I put these 2 layouts together yesterday (both of my youngest son). These aren't the 7 layouts that I've already got started . . .so I'm just cruising through some photos here!

I love this photo of my son and my dad. I've been looking at it for almost a year now wondering how to best scrap it (it was taken when my parents were here for Joe's birthday last March). I stamped on the twill ribbon with my CTMH Friendship Word Puzzle set . . it says "Fun Times" all along the ribbon. I'm really happy with this layout.

Photobucket

This photo was taken last June . . . and again . . I just LOVE this picture of Joey. His brother accidently (?) hit him in the corner of the eye with the shovel when they were digging in the sandbox. He still has a scar on his eye. Poor buddy . . but sure makes an adorable lo!

It's kind of hard to see the detail, but I used my CTMH Simple Stitches stamp set and stamped stitches all around the border of the page and a couple zig zag stitches on the journaling box.

Simple Card

This is just a simple card I made last night while I was cleaning up my scrap stuff. I found this last scrap piece of paper so I thought I'd make a quick card rather than just throw it back in my scrap pile!

Photobucket

and . . not only did I whip up a (simple) card, but I also went through lots of photos and put some in my photo album and got 7 . . yes, SEVEN layouts started. By started, I mean I trimmed all my photos, selected paper and cut everything down to size - I just haven't adhered anything yet. I'm getting ready for scrap camp and I thought if I could get a jump on what I want to do I'd get a lot more accomplished! I'm doing pretty good, huh!?!

The time consuming part for me, with layouts, is the embellishing. So I figure I've got 7 layouts ready to glue down and then embellish. That just might take me the whole day and a half of camp to do that. But I'd be thrilled if I got those 7 layouts completed!!! (and then some!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

One more tonight . . .

this is a card I made earlier today . . . it is on the CTMH promotional flyer for February and I loved it when I first saw it so I finally had to sit down and recreate it! Uses Friendship Word Puzzle and some of CTMH's great double sided textured cardstock . .

My Little Basket

I don't know if you've seen these little baskets or not, but they are so cute and fun to make. Well, ok . . . maybe "fun" isn't the word . . . frustrating might be closer to true! LOL! But they are made with one sheet of 12x12 paper! How cool is that? Anyway, I finally took about an hour last night to sit down and try one. Mine has quite a few flaws since it was my first one, but I still think it's pretty cute! Now I need to figure out what I want to put in it!

It's been a loooonnnngggg week . .

and I'm TIRED! I've been to the dentist twice this week (crown work and teeth cleaning), had to work all week and did 2 CTMH parties . . . which is why I haven't posted anything new! I usually work on stuff at night after everyone goes to bed, but I've been so tired at night that I just haven't felt like staying up.

Now . . . with scrap camp only 1 week away, I need to get my stuff ORGANIZED and I'm sure that will lead to some quick cards that I'll just have to do while I'm organizing ~ LOL!

I'll (hopefully) get lots of layouts completed at scrap camp and will have lots of fun stuff to post next weekend. I'm only spending one night this year, so I've got to be extra organized if I want to get anything accomplished at all! :-)

So, give me one more day and I promise I'll have a couple of new projects posted for your viewing pleasure . . . !!

Explore the Outdoors

Finally got the photos into this layout. I totally cased this layout off the CTMH bb . . I loved it!! I knew exactly what photos I wanted to put in, but didn't get it done until today! I also FINALLY got a photo collage put together for my youngest son (the one is this layout) . . . only took me almost 2 years!!!

Hope you enjoy this layout as much as I do. These are some of my favorites photos EVER of my sweet little Joey!

Some old layouts . . .

shown here for the first time! I went through my scrapbook and took photos of some layouts so I could repost them in the right size on my blog. So now when you click on the layouts label on the right side of the screen it will bring up all the posts of my layouts and hopefully I have most of them resized (still have a couple to do!)

Since I was taking photos, I took some of layouts that I had done before I started my blog. I apologize for any glare . . . I was in a hurry and taking lots of photos so I didn't take them out of my album!

This was a cowboy camp that my 5 year old made in our living room. He had his horse tied up (you can see the rope tied to the footstool!), and all his "cowboy gear" stashed by his sleeping bag underneath the chair. He made a little sign that said "Josh's Cowboy Camp" which I saved and folded behind the bottom photo on the left page (has all the ribbons attached to it so you can pull it out).

Photobucket

This was my youngest son's 2nd birthday . . I love this layout!

Photobucket

This is Josh at the beach during a camping trip to Salt Creek (one of our favorite camping spots!):

Photobucket

And this is sweet little Joey, who will turn 3 in less than a month - wow!

Photobucket

I'm still working on getting a couple other layouts resized (they are just in a different scrapbook). I'll try to get them reposted today! Thanks for stopping by!

Cosmobella

Well, I've been working with my bellas and just can't put together a card I'm really happy with . . . until yesterday!! This is my favorite bella card so far . . . now I need to order some more . . .they are so addicting! I didn't want to take the chance of ruining this card by trying to put a sentiment on the front . . so I left it blank!

Don't know if you can tell or not from the photo, but I used orange stickles on her shirt and stickles on her martini! Enjoy!

New Template!

I just changed the template of my blog this morning . . .I think this looks much "cleaner"; however, changing my template means that my photos need to be smaller . . . so I've gone in and resized some of the recent photos, but I didn't resize all of the older ones.

So, I apologize that if you scroll through some of the older posts the photos are going to be larger than the view window and you won't see the whole thing. Sorry, I don't have all of the older cards so I can't retake all of the photos. But from now on all the photos will be the right size! :-) Enjoy the new look!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is the card I made for my DH . . using (of course) the Soulmates Word Puzzle stamp set from CTMH and a heart pocket!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Enter to Win the Blog Candy below . . .

One week left . . . lots of goodies to give away! Enjoy my blog while you're here and please add me to your faves and come back often. I try to post something new every day! Thanks for looking!

You Amaze Me

This is the book I was talking about in an earlier post. I made this about a year ago with a bunch of photos I'd taken of my son over a period of 6-8 months. He is always dressing up . . . still . . and he's almost 6! He has the greatest imagination of any kid I've ever known. He is hilarious! I've yet to add a little journaling in here . . . I need to do that!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I don't even know where we've found all of these dress up things . . . some we've bought at local thrift shops . . . some were gifts (fireman costume) from Nana . . .

Photobucket

Some were gifts from Auntie Ellen and Uncle Jack (all the cowboy stuff!) . . .

Photobucket

Some are just miscellaneous items he puts together with his clothes and a rope and some boots . . . maybe a scarf . . or a blanket (cape!) . . .

Photobucket

Somehow, these outfits have just accumulated . . .

Photobucket

The dress-up box (trunk) in his room is overflowing . . . everytime we go through it to get rid of stuff his little brother wants it . . oh, well . . . I've got another 4 years of dresser-upers, I guess!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

A gentleman in the grocery store made a comment that I always think of when Josh "dresses up" to go out (to the store or the library or the park, etc.) . . . he said something to the effect that, "you're only a kid once . . . might as well enjoy it . . .you can't do that when you grow up" (i.e. spiderman, harry potter, and all of the other crazy concoctions he comes up with). So when Josh wants to put on all of his get-up to go to the grocery store, I let him . . because, after all, he is a kid and I want him to enjoy being a kid for as long as possible!

Photobucket

Love Rocks!

I had a chance to make these 2 cards last night before my 2 year old (Joe) woke up with a 105 degree fever! Yikes! Both boys have strep throat . . Josh has been on antibiotics for 5 days, he's pretty much good to go . . Joe just started antibiotics yesterday but is feeling MUCH better this morning after a very anxious night (for me!).

Anyway, here are the cards . . . I got this stamp from Impress Rubber Stamps and have not had a chance to use it until now . . I love it!

Photobucket

This is just a simple (masculine) card . . . always good to have a few of these on hand!

Acetate Card

This card was totally cased from Lisa Stenz (I love everything she makes!) . . . but hers is much better than mine!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is about the 6th card I've made in a row with the March Word Puzzle . . . can't get enough of that set! Enjoy!

Mardi Gras

This was just too cute not to share . . .

My DH and I went to a Mardi Gras party at one of our local wineries last weekend and I brought home all kinds of beads, mask, etc. My 5 year old (who LOVES to dress up EVERY DAY - I'll post photos later of a book I made of all his dress up stuff) had to try it all on . . . LOL!!! That's my boy!

Photobucket

Blog Candy!

Ok . . . I went through some of my "stuff" and dug out the following to give away as Blog Candy:

- provo craft stamp
- 2 packs of paper
- 1 book of Winnie the Pooh papers
- 4 sheets of chipboard shapes/alphabet
- SU stamp set "A New Little Someone"

Photobucket

So, just leave a comment on my blog sometime in the next week (on this post or any posts I make after today). I decided that I'll randomly select one winner on Tuesday, February 19 (the 6 month anniversary of my blog!). Be sure to leave me your email address so I can contact you for your address if you WIN!

If you've never left a comment before, all you need to do is click on the highlighted "comments" right below this post. You'll be asked for a username and password (just one time) and then you'll just need to write that down or remember that for the next time you post! It's a lot of fun to chat back and forth with people all over the country and I'd like to know what you think of my work! So, drop me a note and YOU COULD WIN!!!

Thanks for dropping by ;-)

Gift Certificates

I made up a bunch of gift certificates last night for my shop (it's a children's and maternity shop -new & used). These were fun and EASY!!! I used all different kinds of papers and ribbon. I love my scalloped edge punch! Now, if I can just sell some gift certificates . . .and the cool thing is . . when someone redeems one they'll bring the whole thing in and I can just remove the inside piece and print off a new one and reuse the cute part - woo hoo!! :-) LOL!

Photobucket

Also used my Basic Grey Notch and Die for the closure on these cards. I love this tool . . .it sure makes a fun closure on a card. . . love it!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I showed these to my DH this morning and, naive as he is (lol!), he looked at them and said (with a joking tone of voice - lucky for him!!) "they're nice, but you got ink all over the inside pieces . . . you've been doing this for a long time, I'd have thought you'd be better than that by now!" I tried to explain the whole "ink distressing" thing to him, but he didn't get it - oh, well!

As promised . . .

here are the 2 layouts I did last night. The first is (obviously) my little boy's first haircut! He had the cutest little curls in his hair . . .it was so sad to get it cut the first time. Luckily those little curls come back whenever his hair gets long enough! Such a sweetie . . .

(These were a set of stickers I bought a long time ago so I wanted to use them!) Sorry this one is blurry, not sure why. I photographed both layouts at the same time and one was blurry and the other wasn't, hmmmm . . .

Photobucket

I love to tuck my journaling underneath something on my page . . . as I did here . .

Photobucket

The second layout was a wedding photo of my DH and I. The picture was taken by my SIL's best friend (a professional photographer). I had to use Silhouette, of course . . it just screams wedding, doesn't it?!

Photobucket

I clear embossed the heart and popped it up and I embossed "side by side" and "hand in hand" in white. Decided to add the rhinestones along the edge (it's a wedding . . . ya gotta have some 'bling'!) and, because I didn't want to 'clutter' the page anymore I just added the dimensional element photo clip, sponged it with cranberry ink and stamped our wedding date on it in black.

Photobucket

I'm real happy with this one! :-) Isn't he a cutie patootie?!?! mwah!

Oh yeah . . and I finally pulled out the current cc reward rubons . . . and used the 2 hearts on the bottom corner of the photo . . .

Photobucket

A couple more!

I actually did 2 layouts last night and got a third one started! Sometimes I get so much done and other times I go days without doing anything . . .hmmmm, go figure! My oldest boy is staying home from school today with a fever (again! - this stuff won't go away) so I don't know if I'll get to finish my layout, but I will get photos of the 2 I finished last night and get them posted sometime this morning. So . . .stay tuned! Check back in about an hour or two!

Fond memories . . .

Before I became a CTMH consultant (one year ago!) a group of us used to have regular SU parties. We would take turns hosting a party and did about 4-5 a year, sometimes doing cards and, as we started to wind down our parties, we were doing more layouts. A friend put together a layout for me at a party I missed (going on 2 years ago!!). I never knew what to do with it . . partly because the heart on the layout used to look like this . . . (it's not bad . . . but didn't go well on the layout at all - IMO!!)

Photobucket

I never liked the look of it. So today I was thumbing through my photos and found some engagement photos of my husband and I from summer of 2000 (we married in Sept. 2000). I RARELY scrap anything other than my kids . . . so this was going to be fun! I started off by tracing the ugly blue heart onto CTMH sweetleaf cs and then ink distressed it and sanded the heck out of it (and slightly wrinkled it in the process) . . .voila!!! Here is the layout . . . it's one of my new favorites!

Photobucket

It was the perfect opportunity to use my new word puzzle stamps (friendship and soulmates) from CTMH (I LOVE THESE STAMP SETS . . . they are sooo versatile!) and . . . my husband gave me this ribbon as a stocking stuffer 2 years ago . . . who knew it would all come together?!?! :)

Photobucket

I am soooo happy with this layout. It is so unlike anything I would have done. I really need to branch out more . . .get out of my box every now and then. I also think it's fun to come back to photos after a long time . . . it makes you see them in a whole new light! I love these photos and these memories!
