Mother's Day Card - Flower Pot style!

I saw the directions for this card on SCS and had to make it! I really like how it turned out! Liked it so much that I posted the link on Janet's blog Corrosive Creations by Janet for Mother's Day.





Products used: CTMH cardstock (Desert Sand, Colonial White, Sweet Leaf); CTMH Stamp sets With Love, Friendship Blessings, Spot On Backgrounds; CTMH chocolate ribbon; misc. buttons; and Prima Flowers.

Sticky Note Holder

I finally got around to making a little sticky note holder for my desk. These are just the $1 plastic frames you can get at Walmart or the dollar stores . . . . but works perfect for sticky notes! I used CTMH Free Spirit Lv. 2 paper pack.



I dropped my camera on the frame when I was taking the pictures . . . dang it! . . notice the crack!

Such clever little card kits

Ok . . .this was just so stinkin' clever I had to make a bunch of them!!! I got this idea from Aaron's blog . . . she's got so many cute and clever ideas . . in fact she's having a great giveaway right now, so be sure to get over to her Booth and check out her amazing talent!!

This one was 100% scraplifted from Aaron . . meaning I used the same stamps and the same colors . . . . . some things are just too cute not to have!

This kit used CTMH's DREAM BIG incentive stamp set and our new spring color Tulip.

With these, I took Aaron's idea and made 2 more kits using different colors and different stamps . . .
the first set uses Papertrey Ink's Birds of a Feather stamp set and CTMH's retired Breeze paper:

So . . the clever part of this card kit . . .is that the kit is made by gluing 2 envelopes together . . as simple as that. You can get all the info from Aaron's blog. Hope you enjoyed my spins on her adorable idea! Have a great one . . .

I don't get on here to post as much as I'd like to . . . but I have been finding time to play in my scrap room!

Aspen Snowman card & Frankenstein treat bag

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I had forgot my photobucket password and just got it figured out!

Here is a card I made for a party the other night using the little snowman from CTMH's Homeward Bound stamp set and Festive Thoughts. The paper is also CTMH - Aspen Lv. 2 paper pack. Enjoy!




This is one of the little treat bags I made the some of my boys' friends that came over on Halloween. I forgot to get a photo of the girl Frankenstein's . . . I'll try to get one and post! They were fun to make and soooo easy!

Perfect day cards and holder

Scrap Bingo has been keeping me pretty busy, but I have found some time to play! I made this adorable little card holder and 3 coordinating cards to go in it. I saw this card holder on the CTMH bulletin board and thought it was so cute I had to try it. It will hold about 8-10 cards (with envelopes) so I've still got to make a few more!

Christmas Card record book

I made one of these books last year and got such great feedback on it, that I've decided to make them for a Holiday Open House in my local community this year.

I tried to get a photo of the inside, but . . . . my camera died. I mean really died. I've been nursing it along all summer, to the point where I had to use a tack to push the button down to take photos. . .pretty bad, I know. But it finally gave up. So, alas, no photos of the inside, but it is basically sheet after sheet with columns/rows for Name and Address, Year Sent, and Card Received. So you can make a list of everyone you send Holiday cards to with their names and addresses and the year you send a card . . and you can also indicate whether or not you get a card back from them. Hope you like it! They were fun to make and I've got a few more started, with different colors and different designs . . .

Gift Bags

I made up these gift bags last night . . . one is for my niece who is turning 8 this weekend and the other one is for a gift exchange my husband is in this weekend.

My DH said he wanted an outdoorsy gift bag . . so this is what he got . . .



and this is the one for my niece . . .





I used all CTMH products with the exception of the bags, the raffia and the Prima flower. Enjoy!

Coaster Calendar

Yayyyy! This is my first attempt at using coasters and I'm so happy with the end project! I made this coaster calendar about a week ago, but just got my hinges yesterday so I could finally put it together and get it on here! All CTMH products:

Chore Chart

I finally got a chance to sit down (over the last couple of nights) and create a chore chart for my oldest son. He is 6 and, although he does help out when asked around the house, I thought it was time to give him some designated chores.

He has been watching the progress of this creation and is actually EXCITED!!! about having a list of chores to do! He was most excited about feeding the cat and making his own bed! Imagine! Let's see how long the excitement lasts when he's actually expected to do the chores . . . lol!!

Josh will get a nickel for every star he completes at the end of the week. If he does everything on the chart, he will get $2 a week. Keep your fingers crossed! ;-)

So, here is the chore chart:



I used adhesive velcro to attach the chore chart to the fridge, to attach the box of stars to the fridge and on the chore chart itself for Josh to attach the stars to the chart as he does his chores. I chose to use velco (because I had a lot left over and) because magnets are always "falling off" (hmmmm . . . ) our fridge!

The numbers beside the chore indicate how many days a week he has to do that specific chore. I went ahead and chose the days and just put velcro on those days. For the most part, he gets weekends off! :-) (Thanks, Mom!)

and here are the directions:

1- 12x12 sweet leaf cs
1 - 2x8 patterned paper (top piece)
1- 4x10 patterned paper (side piece)

- Adhere the patterned paper to the top and side of the base cs.

- Ink edges all the way around the 12x12.

- Type list of chores on computer and print directly onto colonial white cs (cut to 8-1/2 x 11) (my list was done in the ScholBroadway font, size 26)

- Cut individual chores out and adhere to twilight cs. Adhere to chore chart.

- Stamp days of the week (initial caps) in buttercup ink onto buttercup cs and cut out (I used Giggle Caps). Adhere to chocolate cs and trim again.

- Adhere days of week initials to top portion of chart.

- Stamp child's name on top left corner and attach embellishments. NOTE: make sure you stamp first before adding any brads . . . the brads may get in the way of the block and affect your ability to stamp a clean image.

- Random stamp stars and circles on main portion of chore chart. I also lightly sponged a little bit of chocolate ink all over the main portion after I did my random stamping.

- Connect the velcro pieces to each other (I left my velcro pieces connected until the end . . it's easier to cut and adhere if you leave them attached to each other!) and cut them into (approximately) 1/2" squares.

- Stamp small stars (I used chocolate and twilight ink) onto colonial white cs and use 3/4" punch to punch each one out.

- Adhere velcro to back of stars (velcro pieces (front and back) are still attached to each other in 1/2" squares now.) NOTE: I wanted the soft part of the velcro to be on the chore chart, so I put the sticky back of the rougher velcro portion on the backs of the stars.

The little box that holds the stars measures 3x3x1. I punched the scalloped square out of the front with my scallop punch and used glue dots to adhere a piece of transparency for a window!



I decided not to draw lines separating the days and chores . . . I figured the velcro pieces would make their own "lines" and it seems to work okay!

If any of you out there have been searching, like I have, for a chore chart, I hope this gives you a place to start in creating your own! I had to think about it for a day . . . make some rough drawings on paper, etc. before I could actually start to create it. But I like the overall end product! I thought about doing magnets instead of the velcro stars, but I'd need a lot of little magnets and, in my house, with my boys, that would just be one more thing to get thrown around and/or lost! So, I'll stick with (no pun intended) the velcro!!

Sympathy Card and some cute bags!

I made this card using CTMH's Paper Garden Lv. 2 paper pack and cardstock. Used an old sympathy stamp from SU, some Prima flowers, and some beautiful Basic Grey ribbon I had stashed away!! I really like this card.



And then, had to take this photo for a class I'm doing and thought I'd post it here too, I made the little tote just a couple of weeks ago off of Melanie's tutorial and the little blue bag several months ago. They are just too cute, aren't they?!

My Little Basket

I don't know if you've seen these little baskets or not, but they are so cute and fun to make. Well, ok . . . maybe "fun" isn't the word . . . frustrating might be closer to true! LOL! But they are made with one sheet of 12x12 paper! How cool is that? Anyway, I finally took about an hour last night to sit down and try one. Mine has quite a few flaws since it was my first one, but I still think it's pretty cute! Now I need to figure out what I want to put in it!

You Amaze Me

This is the book I was talking about in an earlier post. I made this about a year ago with a bunch of photos I'd taken of my son over a period of 6-8 months. He is always dressing up . . . still . . and he's almost 6! He has the greatest imagination of any kid I've ever known. He is hilarious! I've yet to add a little journaling in here . . . I need to do that!






I don't even know where we've found all of these dress up things . . . some we've bought at local thrift shops . . . some were gifts (fireman costume) from Nana . . .



Some were gifts from Auntie Ellen and Uncle Jack (all the cowboy stuff!) . . .




Some are just miscellaneous items he puts together with his clothes and a rope and some boots . . . maybe a scarf . . or a blanket (cape!) . . .



Somehow, these outfits have just accumulated . . .



The dress-up box (trunk) in his room is overflowing . . . everytime we go through it to get rid of stuff his little brother wants it . . oh, well . . . I've got another 4 years of dresser-upers, I guess!!





A gentleman in the grocery store made a comment that I always think of when Josh "dresses up" to go out (to the store or the library or the park, etc.) . . . he said something to the effect that, "you're only a kid once . . . might as well enjoy it . . .you can't do that when you grow up" (i.e. spiderman, harry potter, and all of the other crazy concoctions he comes up with). So when Josh wants to put on all of his get-up to go to the grocery store, I let him . . because, after all, he is a kid and I want him to enjoy being a kid for as long as possible!
